Zoning can be done with one system or multiple systems, with dampers in the ductwork that direct air to specific zones. Each zone has its own comfort sensor, which acts as an individual thermostat. These sensors relay information to the system controller, which activates the home system, sending the right amount of conditioned air to the zones where it is needed.

Whether your home is new or was built many years ago, zoning is a great investment.  New construction with a zoning system has virtually no effect on its completion date and typically adds less than 1% to the overall cost. A retrofit project to an existing residence allows you to customize the house to its best advantage for the present or future owner. And of course, resale value is enhanced.
